The investment raised through the Residence Permit for the Investment Activity (ARI), also known as Golden Visa, rose 14.6% in November 2017 when compared with the same month last year, to 54.5 million euros.

In cumulative terms – from October 8, 2012 until November of this year – the investment achieved through the granting of gold visas amounted to 3.38 billion euros.

Overall 5,505 gold visas were awarded: two in 2012, 494 in 2013, 1,526 in 2014, 766 in 2015, 1,414 in 2016 and 1,303 this year until November.

China continues to lead the list of citizens who have been granted gold visas (3,575 until November). This is followed by Brazil (463), South Africa (216), Russia (192) and Lebanon (108).
